Terms of Use

These terms cover your use of the Greenway Pass Socy app and website ("the app"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. We keep them short and plain.

Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for the activity on your account.

What the app is

Greenway Pass Socy helps you find and track greenways in the Charlotte metro area. Trail data, parking, and amenities are provided for convenience and gathered from public sources; they may be incomplete or out of date. Always follow posted signs, trail rules, and local laws, and use your own judgment about your safety on any trail. The app is an independent community project and is not affiliated with any parks department or government agency.

Your content

You may add content such as visit notes and photos. You keep ownership of what you create. By posting it, you give us permission to display it within the app (for example, in the community feed) so the app can work. Only post content you have the right to share.

Community rules

To keep the community welcoming, you agree not to post or do any of the following:

Harassing, hateful, threatening, or abusive content.
Sexual, violent, or otherwise objectionable content.
Spam, scams, or impersonation of others.
Anyone else's private information, or photos of people who have not agreed to be shown.
Anything illegal, or that infringes someone else's rights.

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. You can report any post and block any user from inside the app (use the menu on any feed post). We review reports and remove violating content, and may suspend or remove accounts that break these rules, typically within 24 hours of a report.

Your privacy

How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy. In short: the community feed shows the stretches of trail you covered, never your raw GPS route or where you started or stopped, and you can make your account private at any time.

Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account in the app, which permanently removes your account and data. We may suspend or end access for accounts that violate these terms.

No warranty

The app is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep it accurate and available, but we are not liable for any loss or harm arising from your use of the app or reliance on its information. Some places do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Changes

If we update these terms, we will change the date above and post the new version here.
